Well I have been a christian for years and listened to Allison sing, and I am one also that watched over the Internet...I know what it feels like to have church folk turn against you. Allison and Kerry are both very talented I really enjoy you both, Im sorry that you were treated so badly, I hope God blesses you both so much that you open up your own christian/pop recording studio, and yes I listen to you Allison sing and you playing Pop music. I know christians say you cant mix the two, well has anyone ever thought that maybe God is going to put a twist on things, He did say My ways are not your ways and My thoughts not your thoughts..so be careful how you judge Allison and Kerry...you may have to answer to God Almighty, I love you both, Im praying that the Lord puts such a blessing upon your lives that the christian world will be shocked at the blessing and they will know that God Almighty is with you and has blessed you, just remember people Jesus Himself was wounded in the house of my friends the Bible says in Zechariah 13:6..If you dont think God does things the opposite and contrary at times, then you may want to read your Bible..In fact He will bless someone just to defy the status quo at times...Kerry I really pray you and Allison keep on keepin on with what God has entrusted you with...dont let christiandom beat you outta what the Lord is going to do for you in your lives.(God at times will use any tool He has in His aresonal to reach the lost,and if thats at a Pop n christian mix well thats His business,oh man I know Im gonna be beat on for sayin that,but hey agin read your Bible and see if God goes beyond what people think and how He does things at times)...God Bless you both, JJ...est1958@yahoo.com
Sorry this has occurred, but I do have a problem with christians singing in clubs/bars - whatever, and then come to church and sing about Christ. Where is the seperation from the world? I too came from the entertainment industry, (film) and I can tell you, there is no way I could go BACK into the Hollywood film industry and make secular films and walk with Christ - it's impossible. At some point Christians are going to have to make the cut from this world. I've spoken to Tareva and I wholeheartedly disagree with her, we are in the world, but not of it. Could a christian woman be a stripper and serve God? Romans 12:2 makes it clear - be not conformed to this world!
A response to CL Gregory..Please make sure you tell Jimmy Swaggart that becuse altough he has been preaching and teaching for over 50 yrears he doesn't seem to understand that for him self. On the other hand I beleieve Allyson's heart was in the right place but due to financial circumstances provoked through JSM they were forced to look for work else where..such a shame that a ministry that is supposed to be helping people is only hurting people!
Jimmy Swaggart does not understand what the grace of God really means. He has let misunderstanding and pious bias distort what the Bible teaches about this. Therefore, Jimmy Swaggart doesn't really begin to understand where saving grace reaches and where human effort fails. I don't care how many times he and his amen corner on Sonlight wax eloquent about the subject. He doesn't understand what it is to take up your cross as Christ commanded and to keep your vessel clean as Paul also taught. He has nothing to say to the world about what true holiness is. Too many people think he does. THAT is the tragedy.
thank you for you testemony and that book on toxic faith..I couldn't resist and had to read it..it is so true. When I spoke to my husband about many things that I had herd about the ministry and that we should look into it a little closer to decide if it is some where we want to continue supporting them financially. I told him about an article in regards to JSM printing press and My husband quickly stated they are just rummors and that he would call them because if that is happening surley bro. JM does not know and should be notified..so he called and the person he spoke with told him EXACTLY WHAT WAS MENTIONED IN THAT BOOK "TOXIC FAITH.." SHE SAID "WE ARE BEING ATTACKED" and my husband just dismissed it like everything was ok..I was in amazment. I could not believe it. That because of his reactions I have started to believe that they are or very cleaverly wrap their followers is a cult like system..
Swaggart's "Message Of The Cross" is not the message of the Bible.
How can anyone expect he and his cadre to understand what the Bible teaches when they so totally warp what the Scriptures teach about the role of the Cross in the role of the Christian?
